Taxes

When you Go Live with GRUBBRR, your taxes will already be configured appropriately. If for any reason you need to add an additional tax or assign taxes to a new item, you can do so from the GRUBBRR Portal.

Adding a Tax

To add a new tax rate:

1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the location level
2. Select Operations from the left sidebar menu
3. Select Tax, Tips, & Other Charges from the dropdown
4. Select Tax Master from the dropdown
5. Select +Add New
6. Enter a Tax Name
7. Enter the Percentage tax
8. Enter a Tax No
9. Select Save

To apply a tax rate to items, you have to assign the rate to a tax group. Follow the steps below to learn how to create a tax group.

Tax Groups

To create a new tax group:

1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the location level
2. Select Operations from the left sidebar menu
3. Select Tax, Tips, & Other Charges from the dropdown
4. Select Tax Groups from the dropdown
5. Select +Add New
6. Enter a Tax Group Name
   • The Default Tax box is used to create a default tax that applies to all items unless indicated otherwise through Item Mapping
7. Select the applicable tax rate(s)
8. Select the order types the tax rate applies to
9. Select Save
10. Locate the newly created tax group
11. Select the Item Mapping icon
12. Map the correct items to the tax group by selecting Item Mapping
13. Select items
14. Select Save

Tips

During the checkout process on a GRUBBRR kiosk, if tipping is enabled, you can create pre-set selections for customers to choose from, in addition to the ability to tip a custom amount.

To enable tipping at the kiosk: 

1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the Location level
2. Select Configure in the left sidebar
3. Select General Settings from the dropdown menu
4. Select the Kiosk tab at the top of the page
5. Click the blue check box labeled Show Tip Dialog
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save

Now, youre ready to add a new preset tip selection:

1. Select Operations from the left sidebar menu
2. Select Tax, Tips, & Other Charges from the dropdown
3. Select Tip Master from the dropdown
   • From this screen, you can see all pre-set tip amounts (these values appear as selections on the kiosk during checkout)
4. Select +Add New
5. Select Is Default to make this tip the default selection on the kiosk
6. Select Is Percentage to create a percentage tip
   • Leave this box unchecked to enter a flat amount
7. Select Save
