How to Set up a Revel Integration in the GRUBBRR Portal
Last updated: August 5, 2026
GRUBBRR's integration with Revel is a cloud-based POS integration that doesn't require additional applications installed on the client's PC. This integration allows the client's kiosks to communicate with their POS through the GRUBBRR Portal.
Prerequisites:
Before we can set up the Revel integration in the GRUBBRR portal, we will need to send an email to partnerconnectsetup@revelsystems.com with the following information:
- Client Contact Info
- The client's Business Name
- Any Establishment ID(s) that we know we'll be going live with (even if we are only piloting with one)
- The client's Revel URL
Be sure to CC the client on this email and request that they reply with approval for the onboarding process. Once Revel has approval, they'll send posaccess@grubbrr.com an email containing the API keys we need to set up the integration in the GRUBBRR Portal.
In the GRUBBRR Portal, we'll need to enter all of the following information:
- The Client's Revel URL
- The Client's Revel API Key, obtained from Revel with the client's approval
- The Client's Revel API Secret, obtained from Revel with the client's approval
- The Client's Establishment ID, obtained from Revel's Web Order Interface
- The Menu Type that the client will use for their GRUBBRR Kiosks
- The Menu Name that the client wants to use with their GRUBBRR devices
- The Tender ID that the client will assign to their GRUBBRR Kiosk; we recommend that the client sets a custom GRUBBRR Tender type in their Revel portal
Once you have the information you need, you can begin setting up the Revel integration in the client's GRUBBRR portal.
Location-Level Configuration
Performing an Initial Menu Sync
First, we'll need to connect the client's GRUBBRR systems to their Revel POS. Sign in to the client's GRUBBRR portal account at the Location level, then complete the following:
- Click on Integrations in the left sidebar
- Select Revel from the dropdown menu
- On the Revel Integration page, make the following configurations:
- In the URL field, enter the client's Revel URL
- In the API Key field, enter the key you obtained from the client
- In the API Secret field, enter the information you received from the client
- You can fill in the Establishment ID field in one of two ways:
- Click the green Look up Establishments button to select the establishment ID from a pre-filled list based on the values you entered above
- Enter the Establishment ID manually
- Recommended: You can enable Use Daily Sync and configure a time to perform an automatic menu sync with the client's POS
- Select the appropriate Menu type from the dropdown menu
- Enter the Menu Name you received from the client
- Select the client's preferred Category Import option from the dropdown:
- Import Revel Subcategories as GRUBBRR Categories will split nested categories from Revel into their own category, while
- Import Revel Subcategories as GRUBBRR Subcategories will import nested categories from Revel as-is
- If the client does not use Revel's internal inventory tracking feature, you should enable the flag labeled Do Not Consider Inventory for Item 86
- Optional: For clients using Paytronix & Revel, you'll need to select the appropriate option from the Paytronix ID Choice dropdown:
- If the client's Paytronix integration is configured for Barcode IDs, select Pass Barcode ID to Paytronix
- If the client's Paytronix integration is configured to use External Reference IDs, select Pass External Reference ID to Paytronix
- Select Save Only to apply your new configurations
- Select the client's desired Default Tender ID from the dropdown list
- Select Save & Sync Now to perform an initial menu pull
General Settings
Next, we'll need to configure the following General Settings:
- Select Configure in the left sidebar
- Select General Settings from the dropdown menu
- On the Common tab, make the following configurations:
- In the Order Type table, select Kiosk Dine In from the Third Party Order type dropdown
- In the Order Type Table, select Kiosk To-Go from the Third Party Order type dropdown
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save
Enabling Loyalty Discounts
Our integration with Revel supports loyalty rewards through Paytronix and Punchh. If you have set up either of these loyalty programs for the client, you can enable loyalty rewards on the integration page. Click the 3rd Party Loyalty Discount dropdown on the Revel Integration Page and select the appropriate reward program from the dropdown menu.
Configuring Free Modifiers
If the client wants to include Free Modifiers in their ordering process, they can choose whether they want their GRUBBRR devices to offer the most or least expensive items for free. We can then configure free modifier settings through the GRUBBRR backend by following these steps:
- Select Configure from the left sidebar
- Select General Settings from the dropdown menu
- Click on the Kiosk tab at the top of the screen
- Scroll or search for the Configure Free Modifier setting
- Select Free Lowest Priced Modifier First or Free Highest Priced Modifier First, depending on the client's preferences
Subscribing to Webhooks from Revel
GRUBBRR supports webhooks for Menu Changes and Item Availability from Revel. However, unlike with other integrations, we don't subscribe to webhooks through the GRUBBRR Portal. Instead, we submit Webhook subscription requests to Revel through their dedicated support page, available here.
