How to Upload a Placeholder Image for your Kiosk Menu in the GRUBBRR Portal

Is there a way to automatically apply an image for all items or modifiers on the Kiosk?

Menu images are an essential part of the Kiosk ordering experience; but, there are times when items and modifiers may not actually have appropriate images in the GRUBBRR Portal. Perhaps you recently made complex changes in your POS, and haven't had a chance to add the relevant pictures to your Portal. Or you may not choose not to upload images for modifiers- either as a rule, or just for specific, "unique" options tied to your brand. This can lead to odd "gaps" in the Kiosk ordering experience, as the visual menu is disrupted by blank spaces or broken image notifications.

That's why it's important to upload a Placeholder image to the GRUBBRR Portal. This is a single, branded image that your Kiosk will automatically display for all items and modifiers that don't actually have a picture assigned to them in the backend. The result? A more consistent, visually engaging ordering experience!

You can upload a placeholder for your menu at the Location level in the GRUBBRR Portal, following the steps outlined below.

Go to portal.grubbrr.com

1. Once you've navigated to the location level, click "Configure" in the left sidebar

2. Then click "General Settings"

Click "General Settings" to open the general options where you can adjust overall kiosk preferences.

3. Placeholder settings are on the "Common" tab of the General Settings page

4. Scroll or search for the "Item/Modifier Images" section

5. Enable Placeholder Image

6. Click the "Edit" button to upload a high-definition placeholder from your local storage

This should be a 400x400 pixel square, like all other Menu images.
