How to use Negative Modifier settings in the GRUBBRR Portal

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Can the Kiosk communicate that a customer has removed a standard/default modifier from their items?

If your menu has items that include default modifiers- i.e., a burger that automatically includes American cheese- you can configure an option to include Negative Modifiers on your GRUBBRR Kiosks. With this setting enabled, your kiosk will actively track when a guest asks to remove a default modifier from a menu item.

This setting helps to ensure that changes are effectively tracked and communicated to your kitchen.

To enable Negative Modifiers on your GRUBBRR Kiosk:

  1. Sign in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the Location level
  2. Click Configure in the left sidebar
  3. Click General Settings in the dropdown menu
  4. On the Common Tab, scroll or search for the options labeled Negative Modifier Preference
    1. Turn Show Negative Modifiers on to track when a default modifier is removed from a menu item
    2. Turn Show Default Modifiers to indicate to guests which modifiers are automatically included with their menu item
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to apply your changes

Remember to Sync your changes and use them on your GRUBBRR Kiosk!
