Using FreedomPay Givex Gift Cards with GRUBBRR

Introduction

Gift card functionality requires a relationship with Givex and FreedomPay. Givex provides physical gift cards and FreedomPay processes gift card payments. 

Guests can purchase gift cards at your Kiosk or POS and redeem them on either device. Please note: gift card reload functionality must be purchased separately from Givex.

Enabling Gift Cards

To enable gift card functionality in the GRUBBRR ecosystem, you must first create an account with Givex. They will be your business's physical gift card provider.

They will provide you with a set of FreedomPay credentials (User ID and password), which you will email to your Project Manager. 

Your Project Manager will then set up gift card functionality for you in a turnaround that takes about 24 hours.

Afterward, you can go into the GRUBBRR Portal and enable gift cards for your POS and Kiosk.

GRUBBRR Portal

To activate gift card functionality within the GRUBBRR Portal:

  1. Log in to portal.grubbrr.com using your location’s credentials
  2. Select ‘Configure’ from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the dropdown menu
  4. Use ‘Ctrl + F’ to search for ‘Gift Card’
  5. Select ‘Allow Purchase of Gift Cards using POS’ if desired
  6. Select ‘Allow Purchase of Gift Cards using Kiosk’ if desired
  7. Select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page
  8. Select ‘POS’ from the tabs at the top of the screen
  9. Use ‘Ctrl + F’ to search for ‘Gift Card’
  10. Select ‘Enable Gift Card Payment’
  11. Select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page

Adding Gift Cards

Gift cards can be added to the Portal for purchase via the POS or Kiosk. 

The first gift card you add should always be "Open Value." This option allows guests to purchase gift cards with custom values. After that, you can add pre-set gift card values (i.e., $15, $25, $50, $100). 

To add gift cards to the GRUBBRR Portal:

  1. Log in to portal.grubbrr.com using your location’s credentials
  2. Select ‘Menu’ from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select ‘Catalog Management’ from the dropdown menu
  4. Select ‘Gift Card’ from the dropdown menu
  5. Select ‘+Add New’ in the upper right corner of the screen
  6. Select ‘Back to List’ to create an Open Value gift card
  7. Select ‘+Add New’ in the upper right corner of the screen
  8. Enter a ‘Name’
  9. Enter a ‘Price’
  10. Enter a ‘Value’
  11. Select ‘Show Gift Card on Kiosk’ if desired
    • Show Gift Card on POS is default selected
  12. Select ‘Other’ as the Category Sales Type
  13. Select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page
  14. Repeat steps 7 - 13 as needed

Custom Amount Gift Cards

To enable the purchase of custom amount gift cards:

  1. Log in to portal.grubbrr.com using your location’s credentials
  2. Select ‘Configure’ from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the dropdown menu
  4. Select ‘Kiosk’ from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use ‘Ctrl + F’ to search for ‘Gift Card’
  6. Select ‘Show Custom Amount’
  7. Select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page
