Upsells

One of GRUBBRR's most popular features is the automated upsell on our kiosks. Upsells can be configured on an item-level or order-level basis.

Item-level upsells are offered to customers based on the items they have added to their cart. For example, if you want to offer a medium Coke whenever a customer purchases a chicken sandwich, an item-level upsell is what you are looking for. Whenever a customer adds a chicken sandwich to their cart, a pop-up will appear on the screen, offering them a medium Coke.

Your GRUBBRR Kiosk offers Order-level upsells when customers select Pay from the checkout screen. Order level upsells can be a set item or a set category.

Item-Level Upsells

Item-level upsells are created on an item-by-item basis. When you create an item-level upsell, you can select one or two additional items to offer your customer at either the same price or a custom discounted price.

To create an item-level upsell:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the location level
  2. Select Menu from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select Catalog Management from the dropdown
  4. Select Items from the dropdown
  5. Locate the item you want to add an upsell to and select the Upsell icon (arrow on an orange background) in the Action columnimage3.png
  6. Select the Category of the item you want to offer as an upsell
  7. Select the Item Name
  8. If the item has variations, select the variation you want to offer from the Variation Name dropdown
  9. If you are offering more than one item, you can enter a value into Display Order to customize which item appears first (One item will be 1, the other should be 2)
  10. Enter the Upsell Price
  11. This can be the default item price or a promotional discounted price
  12. Select whether you want to Allow Quantity Selection
    • If this box is not checked, customers can only add one of the upsell items to their cart
    • If this box is checked, a quantity selector will appear beneath the item (shown in the image below)
  13. Select Add
  14. If you are offering an additional upsell item, repeat steps 7-11
  15. Enter a Custom Upsell Message
    • In the above image, 'Feeling Hungry?' is the custom upsell image
    • If you leave this box blank, no header text will appear apart from 'Add On Item'
  16. Select Save

Order-Level Upsells

Item Order-Level Upsell

Order-level upsells are created across your entire menu through a feature we call Courses. Only one item can be created as an order-level upsell.

To create an order-level upsell:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the location level
  2. Select Menu from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select Catalog Management from the dropdown
  4. Select Course Master from the dropdown
  5. Create a course by selecting +Add New
  6. Name the course C1image5.png
  7. Select the Course Mapping icon (tag on blue background)
  8. Select all your items
  9. Select Save and return to the course page
  10. Create a course by selecting +Add New
  11. Name the course C2
  12. Select the Course Mapping icon (tag on blue background)
  13. Select the item you want to offer as an order-level upsell
  14. Select Save to apply your changes

If you ever want to change or remove your order level upsell, you can use Course Mapping to unselect/replace your upsell item in C2.

Category Order-Level Upsell

If you would instead like to set your order-level upsell as an entire category, you can do so.

To set a category as your order-level upsell:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the location level
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Press Ctrl+F to search for Order Level Upsell
  5. Select Upsell By Category
  6. Select the Category from the dropdown
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the page
