Customizing Your GRUBBRR Kiosk

Several customizations can be added to your kiosk. These include but are not limited to screensaver customization, text changes, timeout settings, calorie counts, and item tag images.

Screensaver Customization

Screensaver Text

The Splash Screen Message is the text that shows across the center of the screensaver.

To add or customize this message:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Splash Screen Message
  6. Make sure the flag labeled Show Splash Screen Message is checked
  7. Enter a message into the text box
  8. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

The Welcome Text is the text that appears at the bottom of the screensaver page.

To add or customize this message:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Welcome Text
  6. Enter a message into the text box
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Disable Screensaver

You can turn off the screensaver on your kiosk. This would make the Order Types Screen the default view when a customer is not ordering (shown below).

To configure this change:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Disable Screensaver
  6. Select Disable Screensaver
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Separate Image for Home Screen Background

If you want to set a different image for the Order Types Screen (also known as the Home Screen, shown above), you can do so through the GRUBBRR Portal.

To add a home screen image:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Home Screen Background
  6. Check the box next to Use Separate Image for Home Screen Background
  7. Upload a home screen image (optimal dimensions are 1080 x 1920)
  8. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Transparent Button

The order type buttons on the kiosk have an additional display method available. They can also be configured using Transparent Button settings. The composite image below shows the difference between transparent and standard buttons.

To configure this change:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Transparent Button
  6. Select Use Transparent Button
  7. Select a Border Color
  8. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

On-Screen Text

Thank You Screen

From the GRUBBRR Portal, you can customize the thank you screen on your kiosk. You can choose what customer information the kiosk collects, how long the thank you screen stays, customize the pop-up text, and add a picture.

To make these changes:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Order Confirmation
  6. Make the appropriate changes to the Order Confirmation / Thank You Screen Settings section
  7. Make additional changes in the Thank Your Order Receipt Content section to configure the text
  8. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Table Tent Pop-Up

If you have table tents configured for your kiosk, a pop-up appears and asks customers to enter their table tent number. You can configure the text that appears on that pop-up by following the steps below: 

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Table Tent Settings
  6. Configure the text appropriately
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Tip Screen Dialogue

If you'd like to customize the text on your kiosk's gratuity pop-up, you can also change this setting in the General Settings area of the GRUBBRR Portal

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Common from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Tip Setting
  6. Configure the text appropriately
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Other Customizations

Show Calorie Counts

You can add calorie counts to the settings of created items. You can display calorie counts on the kiosk by enabling a setting in General Settings. Calorie counts will appear below an item's price in light gray.

To configure this change:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Calorie Counts
  6. Select Show Calorie Counts
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Show Item Tag Images

You can add item tags to your items in the GRUBBRR Portal. Item tags typically denote item characteristics. For example, one may signify 'spice,' another might signify 'vegetarian.' These item tags are shown as small icons beneath the Item's image.

Please read the Item Tags article for more information on item tags and how to set them up.

To configure this change:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Item Tag Images
  6. Select Show Item Tag Images
  7. Select Save at the bottom of the screen

Timeout Settings

You can configure an automatic timeout on the kiosk after a specific amount of time passes without activity.

To add or change the timeout settings:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using location-level credentials
  2. Select Configure from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. Select Kiosk from the tabs at the top of the screen
  5. Use Ctrl + F on your keyboard to search for Timeout Settings
  6. Enter a time into the General Timeout text box
  7. Enter a time into the Checkout Screen text box
  8. Select Save at the bottom of the screen
