Your KDS is an essential device for the flow of your kitchen. From your KDS, you can complete items, complete orders, view order history, cancel items, cancel orders, delay orders, un-complete items, un-complete orders, search and filter orders, and re-print order tickets. By default, all GRUBBRR KDS devices come configured for countertop display; however, you can source your own wall mount to install these devices as well.
Device Controls
Completing Orders/Items
To complete an order, double-tap the header portion of the order detail window.
To complete an item, double-tab the item name.
Viewing Completed Orders/Items
To view a completed order or item, you will navigate to the 'Completed' section of your KDS.
Un-Completing Orders/Items
To return a completed order to the in progress status, navigate to the 'Completed' tab of your KDS via the left sidebar navigation.
Then, select the blue clock icon. This will return an order to the 'In Progress' tab.
Searching and Filtering Orders
You can search for or filter orders using options at the top of your KDS.
Search for orders by typing text into the search box. The search function will allow you to filter orders by guest and item name.
Using the 'Order Type' dropdown, you can select to only view orders of a specified order type. For example, you can select 'Dine In' to only view Dine In orders.
Canceling Orders/Items
To cancel an order, tap and hold on the header portion of the order tile.
To cancel an item, tap and hold on the item name.
A confirmation will appear, allowing you to confirm you wish to cancel the applicable order / item.
To view canceled orders / items, select the 'Canceled' tab of your KDS via the left navigation.
Delaying Orders
You can delay orders from your KDS. This will send the customer a text notification, alerting them their order is running behind.
To delay an order, select the purple clock icon in the top right corner of the KDS.
Then, select the order(s) you wish to delay.
Confirm by selecting 'Send Notification (#).'
Then, enter the amount of extra time necessary to prepare the order. Once finished, select 'Notify Customer of the Delay.'
Re-Printing Tickets
You can re-print a ticket from any tab of the KDS. To re-print a ticket, select the receipt icon in the order header tile.
Device Settings
To view device settings, select 'Settings,' from the bottom left corner of the KDS. There are multiple pages of Device Settings, you can select pages using the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
General Settings
There are multiple tabs of settings, the first one you will see is 'General Settings.' This page is very reflective of the settings you can control from our Portal. For more information on these settings, see the KDS: Settings article.
Device Sync
From any page of KDS settings, you can complete a device sync. This will pull the latest changes from the GRUBBRR Portal and update your device accordingly.
Device Info
From the Device Info page, you can see details like your location name, device name, IP address, app ID, and app version.
Printer Settings
From the Printer Settings page, you can see any printers associated with the device and their associated settings.
Reports
From the Reports page, you can run several daily reports including item-wise sales, order history, and Z Reports.
