Categories are the main tool that your GRUBBRR system uses to organize your Kiosk menu. In this article, we'll show you what you can configure on the Category List, and how you can make more detailed configurations through the Category Edit page.
The Category List
1. Menus can be managed at the Company or Location Level
Make sure to select the appropriate level when managing your menu!
2. Click "Menu"
3. Click "Catalog Management"
4. Click "Categories"
5. Click "Default Image" to change the Category Image in your Kiosk's sidebar
You'll be prompted to select a locally saved image from your PC
6. Images can be .jpg, .png, or .gifs, and must be at least 400x400 pixels to display properly on your device
7. Click "Settings" to change category details like name, display order, and price
We'll provide more details on this screen below
8. Click "Status" to mark the category as Active/Inactive for your Kiosk
Guests won't see or be able to order any items from inactive categories
9. "Clone" allows you to make a copy of your category
This is useful if you have two very similar categories- i.e., lunch and dinner sandwiches
10. "Archive" removes the Category from this list
Menu elements are never deleted- you can recover any archived categories by clicking "Un-Archive" at the top left of the screen
11. "Tax" allows you to map a specific Tax Group to your Category
Creating / Editing Categories
Now that we've examined the Category List and the settings we can edit there, let's take a look at the actual Category Edit page. There are a variety of changes you can make from this page, outlined below.
1. Click "Add New"
Or "Edit" if you want to update an existing category
2. Give your category an easily recognizable name
3. Write a short description so guests know what they'll find in this Category
4. Assign the category a place in your Kiosk's display order
A value of "0" defaults to the top of the list
5. The "Show On [...]" Flags allow you to show or hide Active categories on your Kiosk
This is helpful if you want to only offer certain menu categories, like alcohol, at the POS
