Variations are attributes that define an item. Most frequently, variations are used for size or quantity, but they can also be used to pick a type of the item. Variations belong to variation groups, which function similarly to modifier groups but with more limitations.
Each item can only have one variation group, and a customer must always pick one of the variation options for the item. They will never be able to pick more than one variation and a choice must be made to add the item to the cart.
On the kiosk, variation groups will default to a display like the one below.

- You must upload an image if you are using the GRUBBRR Kiosk
- Enter a display order value
- This will determine the order the variation options will display in
- Enter a price value
- If the variation does not have a price, enter '0,' as the field is required

Mapping Variation Groups
Once you create a variation group, you have to assign it to the necessary items. When you finish adding a new variation group you will be taken back to the variation group master list.
To map a variation group:
- Locate the variation group from the list
- From the GRUBBRR Portal, you will be in Menu > Catalog Management > Common Variation Groups
- Select the Items Mapping icon (list on a blue background) in the top right corner of the group
- Select all items you want this variation group to be associated with
- You will only be able to select items that do not already have a variation group
- Select 'Save'
Other Actions
In addition to creation and mapping, you can edit existing groups and delete groups you no longer wish to use.
To edit an existing variation group, select the edit icon (pencil on a green background) in the top right corner of the group. From here you can make any desired changes and select 'Save.'
To delete a modifier, select the delete icon (trashcan on a red background) in the top right corner of the group.
