Link 2500 Setup Guide (Bluetooth)

In this guide, we'll walk through the process of connecting a Link 2500 Payment Device with a GRUBBRR Kiosk via Bluetooth. Please make sure to follow all of the steps below to ensure that the devices can process orders properly. 

Prerequisites

Before we can pair the Kiosk or POS with a Link 2500 payment device, we need to make sure that we've configured the GRUBBRR Portal to allow Bluetooth communication on the client's devices. You can confirm this by following the steps below. 

Go to portal.grubbrr.com

1. Click "Configure"

3. Find the device you want to connect and click "Edit"

4. Make sure that "Bluetooth" is enabled in the FreedomPay Pinpad Connection Options section

Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on the Payment Device

Once we've made sure that the Kiosk(s) have been configured for Bluetooth communication, we're ready to pair the Kiosk and the payment terminal. We'll start by turning Bluetooth on via the Link 2500's internal admin settings. 

  1. Dial 0001 on the device.

  2. Select "Communication Type"

  3. Press 4 to select "Bluetooth_PCL"  

  4. Press the yellow button to go back.

  5. The device will prompt to reboot and save the changes.

  6. Select Yes to reboot.

Step 2: Enter Pairing Mode on the Payment Device 

After the payment terminal finishes rebooting, we need to put it into pairing mode. This will allow the Kiosk/POS to find and connect to the device. 

  1. Tap 0001 again
  2. Select "Bluetooth Parameters"
  3. Select "Pair Option"
  4. Press the green button twice to make the terminal visible to other devices

Step 3: Pairing Through the Kiosk/POS

Now that the terminal is in pairing mode, we can connect to it through the client's Kiosk or POS. 

  1. Enter the device's settings menu
  2. Select "Bluetooth" and make sure it is turned on
  3. Locate "LK2500_17766440" in the available device list
  4. Click "Pair"
  5. Verify that both the Kiosk and the Payment Terminal are showing the appropriate pin number
  6. Press the green button on the payment device to confirm pairing
  7. Press the yellow button on the payment device until it returns to the home screen
