Custom rules allow you to define unique conditions under which your GRUBBRR Kiosk will automatically add linked items to a guest's cart or offer an item when an order passes a minimum subtotal threshold. Any items included in these custom rules can be hidden from the rest of the Kiosk menu, making this feature extremely useful if you want to offer guests a promotional item with their order.
Devices running on version 12.3 or later of GRUBBRR's Kiosk application support two distinct custom rulesets.
Ruleset 1: Automatically Adding an Item to the Cart
The first custom ruleset allows us to automatically add a linked item to the guest's cart to an order. This custom rule can be triggered for any order, or when an item from a predetermined category is added to the cart.
1. Click "Advanced Pricing"
2. Click "Custom Rules"
3. Click "Add New"
4. Give your custom rule a clear, descriptive name
5. Select "Checkout" from the Rule Type dropdown
6. Select "Auto-Add Item to Cart" from the Result Dropdown
7. Select "Any" or "Category" from the Trigger dropdown
8. If you've set a Category as a trigger, enter the appropriate category here
9. Assign the custom rule to Dine In or Takeout Orders
10. Select the item that will be added to the guest's cart
11. If desired, you can select "Hide on Kiosk" to prevent Guests from adding the item to their cart outside of your custom rule
12. Click "Save" to apply your changes
Option 2: Offering Items based on Minimum Order Subtotals
The second custom ruleset allows us to present guests with a prompt similar to the one used for upsells when their order subtotal passes a certain threshold. Guests can then choose whether or not they want to add the item to their cart.
