Starting with the release of GRUBBRR version 10.2, we can import order-level discounts of up to 100% from Square to the GRUBBRR portal. These discounts can be applied to the total value of a user’s cart at the end of their transaction, not item-specific deals and promotions. If you would like to enable discounts configured in Square on your GRUBBRR Kiosks, you can follow the steps below.
Pulling Discounts from Square
Square does not notify the GRUBBRR Portal when new discounts are created, so the first step is to sync your GRUBBRR Portal with your Square system manually. Please note that Square discounts are disabled by default in the GRUBBRR portal; after the sync, we'll need to enable them in the GRUBBRR system.
- Navigate to the Location Level in the GRUBBRR Portal
- Click Advanced Pricing in the left sidebar
- Select Discounts from the dropdown menu
- On the Discount List screen, click the red Status button in the action column of the discount you wish to enable
Once a discount's status is set to Active, guests can apply that discount to their order at the kiosk.
Custom Configurations: Discount Codes
If you would like to require a coupon code to redeem their discount, we'll need to assign this code through the GRUBBRR Portal, not Square. To require a discount code for a menu item, navigate to the location level and make the following configurations:
- Navigate to the Location Level in the GRUBBRR Portal
- Click Advanced Pricing in the left sidebar
- Select Discounts from the dropdown menu
- On the Discount List page, click on the blue Edit button in the action column of the discount you wish to configure
- On the Update Discount page, scroll or search for the flag labeled Requires Coupon Code, and check the box to turn the setting on
- This will display a new field labeled Coupon Code; enter the desired coupon code here
- Click Save to apply your changes
Coupon codes configured in this way persist after you sync the GRUBBRR portal with your Square system. Please note that discounts configured as coupon codes won’t automatically display on the kiosk; they will only be available if users enter the correct coupon code during the order confirmation process.
