Creating Combos in NCR Aloha

With the release of our version 10.0 software, GRUBBRR’s Samsung Kiosks can now import and display combos configured in the NCR Configuration Center. If you’d like to use this new feature but have never configured combos in NCR before, follow these steps to build kiosk-ready combos: 

  1. Sign in to the NCR Configuration Center
  2. Click on Maintenance
  3. Click on Payments
  4. Click on Promotions
  5. On the Promotions page, click the dropdown arrow on the right side of the New button
  6. Select Quick Combo QS from the dropdown menu
  7. On the Promotion tab, make the following configurations:

    • Give your new combo a Name
    • Assign the combo an External ID
    • Configure the combo’s Start and End Dates
    • Make sure the checkbox for Active is on
    • Make sure the checkbox for Available Online is on
    • Give your new Combo an Online Name
      • The Online Name will display on your GRUBBRR devices
  8. On the Components QS tab, make the following configurations:
    • Create a new Component by clicking the Add button in the Components window

      • Think of components as categories that make up your combo; if you create a combo with three components labeled “Entree,” “Side,” and “Drink,” your guests will get to select items from each of those groups when they build their combo
    • Add specific menu Items to your Component by clicking the Add button in the bottom window; for example, if your Component is “Burgers,” NCR allows you to add multiple burger types to your combo

      • In this example, we’ve added two options that guests can choose between when they select this combo: grilled chicken or grilled mushroom
  9. Click Save to apply your settings

After 24-36 hours, your new combo will be available in the NCR Online Menu Configurator. As a reminder, once it becomes available, you must take the following steps to make your combo available on your GRUBBRR Kiosks: 

  1. In the Online Configurator, Map your new combo to a category for your kiosk menu
  2. Publish your menu from the Online Configurator
  3. Sync the GRUBBRR Portal with your POS
  4. Review your combo to make sure that it has any images or details you want included on your GRUBBRR Kiosk
  5. Sync the GRUBBRR Portal with your devices
