Your GRUBBRR Kiosk has a barcode reader that allows customers to scan items without modifiers and add them directly to their orders. You will need to take two steps in the GRUBBRR Portal to enable this function.
Enabling Scan/Select Mode on Kiosks
- From the left sidebar, select Configure
- Select Device Settings
- Select the kiosk you want to enable and click the blue Edit button.
- Scroll to Advanced Settings
- Check on Enable Scan/Select Hybrid.
- Note: Enabling Scan/Select Hybrid will also enable a search function in the kiosk. This function allows customers to search for barcoded items if the scanner does not find them.
- Enabling Scan/Select Hybrid will open another option labeled Show all barcode items in menu. Turning this setting on will allow your customers to select barcoded items directly from the Kiosk menu instead of scanning or searching for them.
Note: Turning this option off does not deactivate the search or scan function for barcoded items. - Select Save
You will need to repeat these steps for every kiosk that you would like to use this function.
Assigning Barcodes to Items
You can now enable barcode scanning for specific items in your menu. As a reminder, this function only works with items that do not have any modifiers.
- From the left sidebar, select Menu
- Select Catalog Management
- Select Items
- Select the item you want to edit on the Item List. You can scroll through the list or use the search bars at the top of the page to find the specific items you want to modify.
- Click the blue Edit button on the right side of the screen.
- Scroll down and select the option labeled Click to Manage Additional settings
- In the Item Barcode ID section, enter every digit of the number below the item's barcode; Otherwise, the system will not be able to scan the item properly
- Select Save
