Setting up Donations on your Kiosk

If you'd like to use your kiosks to support a local charity, GRUBBRR's kiosks can be configured to accept donations as part of the ordering process. Please note: If you're using a Samsung Kiosk, this feature requires either GRUBBRR Standalone or our PAR Brink Integration; for Android, you must use GRUBBRR Standalone or our HMS integration. Please make sure to follow the steps below before configuring Donations in the GRUBBRR Portal.  

PAR Brink Only: Create a Donations Revenue Center in PAR

Before you can accept donations at your GRUBBRR kiosk, you’ll need to make a few configurations in your PAR administrative portal. 

  • First, you’ll need to create an Open Item and flag it as a No Tax Item in PAR; your GRUBBRR kiosk will use this to submit donations to your POS
  • You’ll need to assign this open item to a Donations-Specific Revenue Center in PAR so that your POS can process transactions correctly

Once you’ve completed the steps above, you can pull your newly created Donation Item into the GRUBBRR portal. To do so: 

  1. Sign in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the Location level
  2. Select Integrations in the left sidebar
  3. Select PAR Brink POS from the dropdown menu
  4. On the Integration page, select Save and Sync menu to pull your newly created item from Par
  5. Select your Donation item from the dropdown menu
    1. Note: If you link your GRUBBRR portal with a different menu in PAR, you will need to repeat these steps; if you don’t, the donation will no longer be offered on your kiosk
  6. Select Save Only to enable the item in the GRUBBRR portal

Location-Level Configurations

Please Note: the steps above are only required for users with our PAR Brink integration. Standalone and HMS integration users can enable donations at the kiosk by simply following the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the GRUBBRR Portal at the Location level
  2. Select Configure in the left sidebar
  3. Select General Settings from the dropdown
  4. On the Common tab, scroll or hit ctrl+f to find and enable the flag labeled Show Donation Prompt; this will display a new set of sub-options for your new donation
    1. Add Header Text to display a unique message on the donation popup
    2. Upload a unique Donation Prompt Image- we recommend using a logo for the charity you’ll be donating to
    3. If desired, enable the Show Custom Amount option; this will allow your guests to enter a custom donation amount through the popup
  5. Select Save to apply your new settings

Remember, these settings won’t be applied to your kiosk until you click on the Sync button on the top right of the screen!
