PAR Brink: Setting up Free Modifiers

Introduction

Locations with PAR Brink integrations can give customers a certain number of modifiers for free with each item.

A modifier group can be configured to give customers a certain number of modifiers free when they would normally be charged for them. If the total number of modifiers chosen by the customer is more than the number of free modifiers available for that modifier group, the free modifiers will default to select the highest-price modifiers.

Setup Instructions

The allowed quantity of free modifiers must be between the minimum and maximum allowed quantity of modifier selections.

To configure free modifiers in the PAR Brink Admin Center:

  1. Open the PAR Brink Admin Portal  in your preferred browser
  2. Select 'Configuration' from the left sidebar menu
  3. Select 'Settings Editor' from the dropdown

  4. Select 'Modifier Groups' from the left sidebar menu
    • You can also search for 'Modifier Groups' in the search bar at the top left
    • If you cannot see 'Modifier Groups' the login you are using does not have the appropriate permissions, we recommend reaching out to an admin or your PAR Brink representative
  5. Search for your modifier group by entering the group name into the search field

  6. Select the modifier group name from the table
  7. Edit the value in the 'Free' field to set a number of free modifiers for the modifier group

  8. Select 'OK' when you are finished
  9. Select 'Save' at the top of the page
  10. Enter the notes for your save then press 'OK'

  11. Select 'Publish' at the top of the screen
  12. Select 'OK'
    • When your changes publish successfully, a 'Publish received' message will appear to the right of the 'Publish' button

  13. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using your company's credentials
  14. Select the location you are modifying the menu of
  15. Select 'Integration' from the left sidebar menu
  16. Select 'PAR Brink' from the dropdown
  17. Select 'Save & Sync' at the bottom of the page

Troubleshooting

Free Modifier Quantity is Wrong on GRUBBRR Devices

The value of the Free Modifiers field on the Common Modifier Group editing page may not reflect the number of allowed free modifiers set within PAR Brink.

Re-sync the menu to fix the issue.

To sync:

  1. Log in to the GRUBBRR Portal using your company's credentials
  2. Select the location you are modifying the menu of
  3. Select 'Integration' from the left sidebar menu
  4. Select 'PAR Brink' from the dropdown
  5. Select 'Save & Sync' at the bottom of the page
