How to Set Up and Use "Invisible" Modifiers in the GRUBBRR Console

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Is there a way  for customers to "skip" adding required modifiers to their items?

Sometimes, offering too many modifiers for a menu item can create unnecessary clutter or "clicks" on a Kiosk Menu. For example, if you offer a Roast Beef sandwich on your menu, it doesn't make sense to provide a "Meat" modifier group; guests already know what to expect.

So, to make the ordering flow more accessible, we can mark these default modifiers as "invisible" in the GRUBBRR Console. This will tell our platform that it should send these default modifiers to the POS, but not to show them in the Kiosk's menu interface, order details, or receipt. This is an easy way for us to simplify the ordering process for customers, without making changes to any existing POS configurations.

We can create invisible modifiers in the console using location-level controls, or as part of an enterprise menu dataset. In this guide, we'll show you the basic flow at the location level.

Go to console.grubbrr.com

1. Start by clicking "Menu Settings" in the Console sidebar
