How to Configure Order Types in the GRUBBRR Console

Last updated: August 8, 2026

How do I make sure that my Kiosk submits the correct Order Type to my kitchen?

Before GRUBBRR Kiosks can submit an order to your POS, we need to make sure that we've fully configured all of the Order Types that you'll be offering in the GRUBBRR Console. These settings are available in the "Kiosk Settings" section of the Console, or under "Kiosk Datasets" for locations using Enterprise controls, and they control how your Kiosks send order identifiers to your Point of Sale. We can also control what customer information your Kiosk collects during an order, so that we can use features like SMS or email receipts.

You can configure Order Types following the Location Setup Check guides available in the console; or, you can find them under the Kiosk Settings section by following the steps outlined below.

Go to console.grubbrr.com

1. Click "Kiosk Settings"

Click 'Kiosk Settings'

2. Click "Order Types"

Click 'Order Types'

3. By default, the Console creates templates for "Dine In" and "Take Out" orders

4. The console will partially pre-fill each order type template; however, you will need to click the "Edit" button and confirm that each option is correct before the system will consider setup complete

5. If desired, you can change the display name for each order type...

6. And assign each order type a specific identity to send to the POS

Many GRUBBRR Partners use Table Tents, so that staff can find the customer easily; however, you can also have the Kiosk send an Order Token (order number) to the POS with Kiosk orders.

8. For some POS integrations, we can also create a custom prefix that the Kiosk will append to an order ID, making it easier to identify Kiosk orders on the POS

9. All Kiosk orders will need to be mapped to an appropriate order/handoff type from the POS...

10. And for some integrations, will also need to be mapped to an appropriate order channel/revenue center

The order type tells the POS where the order is going- i.e., a dine in order- and the Channel tells the POS that the order is coming from the Kiosk or a web platform, etc.

11. When you're done, click "Save" to apply your changes

Then repeat the process as needed for any other order types you'll be offering

12. Remember- if needed, you can add additional order types to the Kiosk by clicking here

Once all of your order types have been configured, click the "Sync" button at the top right of the console to push the changes to your Kiosks.
