How to Change the Size of Category Icons on your GRUBBRR Kiosk

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Can I show more categories at once on the Kiosk? How do I remove the scroll bar in the sidebar?

One of the best parts about a self-ordering Kiosk is that it lets your guests customize their items as much as they want. However, GRUBBRR has found that even the most enthusiastic users can reach a point where the menu just feels too complex.

There are a lot of ways that we can avoid this "click fatigue," such as setting up default modifiers and enabling "add as is" for menu items. We can also cut the amount of touches per order by reducing the amount of scrolling customers need to do on the Kiosk. In this guide, we'll show you how you to change the size of your Category icons, so that the Kiosk sidebar can show up to eight categories at a time. This feature can be enabled at the location level, or as part of an Enterprise Kiosk dataset.

Go to console.grubbrr.com

1. At the location level, start by clicking the "Kiosk Settings" option in the left sidebar

For Enterprise locations, you would need to switch to Enterprise view, then navigate to the Master Kiosk Dataset to make these changes.

2. Click "Appearance"

3. Select "Kiosk Appearance" from the dropdown

4. Look for "Category Settings" on the Kiosk Appearance screen, then select "Category Tiles"

"Large Tiles" will show six categories at once on the Kiosk, "Medium Tiles" will show eight, and "Small Tiles" will show up to twelve

5. Save your changes

6. Remember- your new settings won't show up on the Kiosk until you send an update using the "Sync" tool at the top right of the Console screen

If you're looking for other ways to minimize scrolling on the Kiosk, you may also consider changing column settings in the GRUBBRR Menu Manager. This feature allows you to show up to nine items at a time when a customer is browsing your menu.
