How to Set Per Item Quantity Limits in the GRUBBRR Console
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Can I restrict the quantity customers can purchase of specific menu items, rather than setting menu-wide limits?
Sometimes, brands may want to set a limit on how many times a customer can add a specific item to their cart. While the GRUBBRR Console allows us to set menu-wide order limits through Advanced Ordering Options menu, this may be too restricting for your specific needs.
That's why GRUBBRR allows you to configure "Max Quantity per Cart" limits for individual menu items. This allows you to limit a specific item- i.e., an alcoholic beverage- without restricting the rest of your menu. This can be configured for menus using location-level menus, or it can be set up at the Enterprise level if your menu uses ECM. Let's take a look at how to set up these limits at the location level.
Go to console.grubbrr.com
1. Click "Menu Settings" in the left sidebar

2. Select "Menu" from the dropdown

3. You can navigate to the item tab, or use the "All in One" view to select a category...

4. Followed by an item you want to update

5. Select "Edit" from the dropdown menu

6. You can enter the maximum quantity for the item in this field

7. Make sure to save your changes

8. Then use the Sync tool to push the new menu configurations to your Kiosk

Once the Kiosk finishes updating, your new quantity limits will take effect
